Questions & Counselor's Answers
I've had some strange Emails lately. The guy's profile is well written and they "look" educated and American. Then I get an Email with poor English and wording that does not match what was written in the profile. They all want my personal Email or want me to get an IM account. Is this a scam?
I have received quite a few "winks". When I go to profiles to read about them I get a message that they are not available - check spelling, etc. What is going on with that?
I just found your SCAMMERS/TROLLS/PERVS & GOLD DIGGER blog. How do you spot these scammers? How can I tell if someone is a scammer? Thanks and keep up the good work.
How come I don't get anybodies attention
Hello, I have very low response rate. Would you please give me some feedback on what might have been wrong with a profile.
Something's wrong! Maybe I should have not listed my occupation as a teacher/counselor (a doctor would be nice, but not true) Maybe because I live in NJ and people have a vision of teased hair, the whold makeup bar at Macys, and stiletto heels. The closest I come to being urban is my Infiniti and Chicos. Check out my profile and let me know if I've put my unpedicured foot in my mouth. Linda
Twice I had dates with 2 different gentlemen. The first one was very nicelooking and I liked him. We (I thought) had a good time. No kiss or anything of that nature. I just want to start out as friends. Heard from him a couple of times but nothing since. (a month). My sister said he was probably just looking to sleep with someone .... 2nd one I went out with last night and all he did was talk about his impending divorce & how bad his other 2 wives were. Other than that he was a gentlemen, had a great meal and planned on getting together today to sight see but when I called to arrange to meet him he said "we were not compatible" .... I guess I need to find out what questions to ask before ever getting to a meet & date stage. Any suggestions? Need your advice and help. Gail
I've seen 2 profiles now where the ages don't match what was written. For example, one guy's profile said he's 35, yet in the about me section he says he's 28. Another profile said the guy was 40 or 41 (I forget), but in the about me section he says he's 31. Why is there that discrepancy? Does this mean I can't trust the age the men put down?
I have been contacted by a great guy but on seeing his photos, whilst he looks nice I don't think I could ever fancy him. How would you suggest i let this guy down gently?
I have been on the site for a few weeks now. I am seriously looking to find a lasting LTR, which will eventually lead to marriage. My question is, why do so many professional, well educated women, post these wonderful profiles of themselves and then trash it up with sleezy photos? Do they think all men are looking for a wife that would show off her body for the whole world to see?
